Become a Volunteer

The support of the community is essential to the success of future generations. Volunteers are most needed in the areas listed below. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, enter your contact information and select a volunteer position or choose "other" and indicate how you would like to help.

Volunteer Positions

  • Coordinate and provide care that is safe, timely, effective, efficient, equitable, and client-centered.
  • Handle case assignments, write service plans, review case progress and determine case closure.
  • Help clients achieve wellness and autonomy.
  • Must be able to service client a minimum of 2 hours per week.
  • Case Managers are assigned a minimum of one case but based on availability may take up to two (2).
  • Must have at least one year of case management experience.
  • Works with mentee to model time and budget management.
  • Works with mentee to enhance parental skills and co-parenting (as needed).
  • Assist mentee with carrying out plan to achieve education/career goals.
  • Provides guidance as a positive, supportive adult.
  • Helps the mentee improve life skills through demonstration.
  • Mentors must agree to a minimum of 1 hour per week for 12 months.
  • Assist client with child care needs.
  • Provide quality, licensed care to client’s children as needed to meet education, career and case plan goals.
  • Facility/location must be licensed by the Virginia Department of Social Services.
  • Must assist clients at a discounted rate or on voluntary basis.
  • Must provide a minimum of 2 voluntary hours per week. Additional hours may be offered at a discount rate.
